Jira integration

If you use Jira to track issues in your app, you can connect Flare to Jira.

Our integration allows you to:

• Create a Jira issue directly on a Flare error.
• Associate a Jira issue with a Flare error by mentioning a Flare URL in the Jira issue.
• Automatically resolve / unresolve an error on Flare when you transition the Jira issue status.
• Automatically transition a Jira issue status when you resolve / unresolve an error in Flare.

Getting started

Go to the Integrations page within the team settings. Click on "New integration" and select Jira.

You will be redirected to the Atlassian Marketplace. Install the Flare for Jira app on your Jira site. After the installation, open the app's "Get started" page. You can find it in Atlassian Administration under Connected apps: open the actions menu of Flare for Jira and choose "Get Started".

Click the "Connect to a Flare team" button. Jira asks you to confirm that you want to open Flare. If you're a member of more than one Flare team, pick the team you want to connect. You'll be redirected back to Flare with the new connection added:

To connect Jira to your projects, go to the integrations page in your project settings. Once there, you can add as many Jira projects to your Flare project as you want.

After linking the project you're able to configure how Flare interacts with the Jira project:

• Automatically link a Jira issue to an error when the issue contains the URL of that error.
• Pick the Jira status an issue moves to when you resolve or reopen its error in Flare.
• Pick the Jira statuses that resolve or reopen the error in Flare.
• Pick the issue type that is pre-filled when you create a new Jira issue from Flare.

Associating Flare errors with Jira issues

After you've connected a Jira project to a Flare project, each error in Flare gets a "Link issue" button at the top of the page. Click it to see the linked Jira project.

Clicking the "Create issue" button allows you to create a new Jira issue from Flare:

Once an issue is linked, the button shows the issue key, for example ACME-4. Click it to see the linked issues and their status in Jira:

When you mention a Flare error URL in the description or a comment of a Jira issue, the issue will be linked to the error. You can turn this off in the Jira project settings in Flare. Jira can take a few minutes to send the change to Flare.

You can also link an existing issue with the "Link issue" button in that same menu. Here you can paste the URL of the Jira issue:
